Yamaha Motor stop production until 31 March due to COVID-19

  • Operations suspended at Chennai, Surajpur and Faridabad plants
  • Employees working at the Head Office and Area Offices can work from home
  • To wait for further notifications from the respective State Governments
  • As preventive counter-measure against COVID-19 pandemic, India Yamaha Motor has suspended manufacturing operations at its plants in Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Surajpur (Uttar Pradesh) and Faridabad (Haryana) till 31 March 2020.

    The Indian arm of the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer suspended operations at the Surajpur and Faridabad Plant from 23 March while the production at the Chennai plant will be stopped from 24 March. The employees at the Head Office and Area Offices have the option of working from home till 31 March.

    Apart from temporarily shutting production, India Yamaha Motor has been taking precautionary measures such as increased frequency of sanitization at factory premises and work stations, restrictions in travel and creating awareness among the employees. The company said in the press announcement that it will wait for further notifications from the respective State Governments to resume plant operations.
